20040402.0757 (On Screen): Powell has gone to Europe, and yet again gotten his nose pushed in:
NATO allies hedged Friday on assuming a peacekeeping role in Iraq, deferring a decision until after an interim Baghdad government takes over in July. Secretary of State Colin Powell, who urged the 26-nation alliance to intervene, said he thought it was unlikely NATO would take on the role unless the new Iraqi government approves.
In other words, "We'd be happy to help an independent Iraqi government, but we'll be damned if we'll help you, America."
Of course, a lot of them are already helping us. Quite a few nations which are members of NATO already have forces in Iraq helping us out.
For the rest, are they allies, or are they all lies?
