20040102.1606 (On Screen): The IAEA apparently had no idea how advanced Libya's nuclear-development program had been. It's now being called in as part of the process of dealing with it in the aftermath of the deal Qaddafi made with the UK and US, and el Baradei is demanding that the IAEA be totally in control and that "everyone" (i.e. us) give the IAEA as much information as they have about the current state of Libya's program.
Yeah, right.
If we reveal what we know, we also strongly indicate how we learned it, and offer big hints about what we don't know. And anything we give to the IAEA we may as well also publish in the newspaper, since it's certain anyone else in the world who wants access to it will gain access.
