Stardate
20030512.1339 (On Screen): This sounds like some sort of setup for a 1950's cheap horror flick:
The brains of at least 20,000 people, many of them depressed or mentally ill when they died, were removed without their families' consent over a 30-year period, a senior [British] government doctor reported Monday.
One has this image of a cabal of British doctors working on some evil plot. One sees tall grey-haired men with aristocratic accents (think 'Count Dooku') meeting and talking furtively about how well "the project" is going. There's a camera cut to an underground complex with rack after rack loaded with big glass bottles, each of which has a brain in it in a weirdly colored solution surrounded by bubbles and flashing lights, connected together by a bewildering array of plastic tubes and electrical wires, all being networked together to create a mass mind to think about... what? What evil scheme do these fiendish researchers intend to further? What is the project? All will be revealed in...
The Revenge of 20,000 Brains!!!
Coming soon to a theater near you! Don't miss it!
Hmmm... maybe this is the true explanation for the origin of the European Union. (And here I thought it was the French whose evil plan was behind it.)
