USS Clueless - Be careful out there

Stardate 20030319.2000

(On Screen): There will be a lot of confused reports in the next few days. It's easy to get sucked in by them; it's important to keep a bit of critical reasoning in reserve.

For instance, this article has the headline: "Air Raid Sirens, Planes Heard in Baghdad". Sirens? I believe that. Explosions? That, too.

Planes? Not a chance. There is no way that we would be using any aircraft now over Baghdad which would be flying an an altitude low enough so that they could be heard from the ground. Any bombers flying tonight over Iraq will be above 10,000 feet so that they're out of range of Iraqi AAA (anti-aircraft artillery). And you can't hear the engines on a jet when it's 2 miles above you.
