USS Clueless - NATO solidarity

Stardate 20030219.1828

(On Screen): So we tried really hard to get NATO to approve movement of defensive forces to NATO member Turkey to protect against any kind of rocket or missile attack in case there's a war in Iraq, and France blocked any possible move in the NATO council. So the question was instead referred to the NATO Defense Planning Committee, in which France is not a member, and it was passed there.

President Bush now praises NATO for its "solidarity".

"This is an important demonstration of the solidarity of NATO allies in view of a potential threat to an alliance member," Bush said in a statement after meeting with NATO Secretary-General George Robertson.

Ooh, it's not nice to be so nasty!

"See, once we managed to get unilateral France out of the way, the rest of NATO multilaterally acted to defend NATO member Turkey, just like the NATO treaty says it was supposed to."
