20030129.0014 (On Screen): Well, if Bush's speech is making de Villepin nervous, then maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought. He says:
I welcome this American decision, we have been asking all those who have special information to give it to the inspectors so they can do their work in the best conditions.
Now there's no way that this is what Bush meant. Powell won't be giving information to the UN for use by the inspectors, he's going to be giving information to the press, to apply pressure to France. de Villepin must know that. So what the hell is this crap? Is he trying to set up a rhetorical response along the lines of "If you knew all that stuff, why didn't you tell the inspectors about it?"
