(On Screen): Bill Whittle has been exchanging email with me off and on for quite a while now. At one point he wrote me a letter which I felt compelled to post in its entirety, for it seemed wrong somehow that I should be the only reader of something that profound and passionate. It deserved a greater audience and it was my privilege to give it one. It has been one of the most heavily-linked posts on this site. Bill has also recently made something of a mark by posting several letters on the subject of the Second Amendment in the comments on Rachel Lucas' site.

So he is getting off to a running start on his own blog by reprinting both of those in revised form. I look forward to great things from him. (We can always use another Jacksonian "thinker" blog.)
