USS Clueless - Nigerian scam

(Captain's log): Boy, there sure seems to be a lot of embezzling going on in Africa right now. It's astounding how many people there seem to have a few million dollars they need to transfer to the US with my assistance, for which they will gratefully reward me with a large percentage.

I think I've gotten at least ten copies of various forms of the Nigerian Scam letter, from various and sundry generals, widows of deposed dictators, government officials and sundry other well-placed Africans, in just the last week. All of them assure me that they have learned that I'm a reliable person who'd be glad to help them out in their small transaction. Doesn't it seem as if the effectiveness of those letters in convincing someone to be an idiot would drop to nothing once they've seen several of them? Is there anyone in this country with an active email address who hasn't received several of them by now?
