20020428.1526 (On Screen): There's a classic Monty Python sketch about a nebbish with a gorgeous and promiscuous wife who goes to a marriage counciler. The counciler ends up getting it on with the wife after asking the nebbish to go outside. And while he's out there, a vision appears of an American cowboy, who talks to him about being a man. So he resolves to go back inside. "This is it, Arthur Pewtie! You're a man now!"
And he goes back inside the office and demands that his wife come out from behind the curtain. "Go away!" shouts the marriage counciler. "Right, right!" and back out the door he goes.
This is it, Kofi Annan. You're a man now! That was the reaction I had to reading a few days ago about how Kofi Annan refused to accept any delays or make any changes to the UN fact-finding mission to Jenin last Tuesday.
When it came right down to it, there was going to be no fact-finding mission unless Israel permitted it. If they said "no" (as they now have) then just what is the UN going to do?
Update 20020430: "Right, right..."
