20020426.0544 (On Screen): Apparently the Church's solution to the problem of Cardinal Law is to kick him upstairs. He'll be "promoted" to a position in Rome, doing something-or-other yet to be determined. They plan on doing this before his scheduled deposition in a lawsuit against the Boston archdiocese.
I hope they do realize that this can't be used to stop the deposition. In any case, is this the first trickle of a flood? Will there be major changes in the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in the US?
