(On Screen): The Guardian continues its never-ending campaign of sniping at the US. I think maybe it is in its corporate charter or something. This time they're "whinging" (Brit for "whining") about the proposed boost in American defense spending. I suppose I could go in and answer their comments, but what's the point?

No matter what you do, there will always be critics. It is never possible to satisfy everyone. Those who cannot do, criticize. (Thus has it always been.) When faced with incessant criticism from one particular place, sometimes it's important to recognize that the best thing to do is to ignore them and get on with it. Critics only have the power we grant them.
