(On Screen): Representatives of the Cuban government are voicing objections to the US plan to create a detention facility at Guantanamo to hold members of al Qaeda captured in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

Well, that's that, then. Obviously we wouldn't want to anger our close allies the Cubans; and clearly we can't do anything at Guantanamo unless they approve of it. So I guess we'll just have to put the captives somewhere else.

Why are the Cubans wasting their breath like this?

Man, Cuba just can't seem to get any respect.

Update 20011230: The Cuban Government officially announced that it had no opinion about the US plan.
