Stardate 20011018.2305 (On Screen): Well, the subspace crystal ball
failed this morning; it turns out that US forces
are on the ground in Afghanistan now. They're described as operating "in small numbers", which could mean anything. I still think it's unlikely that they're actively seeking out combat; if there was some exchange of fire earlier today it was probably a meeting engagement (a chance encounter which develops into combat). But if the bombing made the Taliban leadership nervous, knowing that the rangers are on the ground should make them doubly so.
