Stardate 20011018.0518 (On Screen): Yet another article bemoaning the rising toll on Afghan civilians. It is unfortunate, it is regrettable -- and it is inevitable -- that they will be hurt or will be killed. But I suppose it needs to be repeated: if we were deliberately targeting Afghan civilians and trying to kill as many of them as we could, the death toll would be in the hundreds of thousands, not in the hundreds.
