Stardate 20010808.1638 (On Screen): In defense of his faith-based circumvention of the First Amendment, our beloved President has said "There's great debate in Washington about the process, the legalities of the initiative. What my administration talks about is the results of the initiative." He can't be serious. There are lots of good things which could be accomplished if we were just willing to rip up the Bill of Rights. Get rid of that pesky Fourth Amendment requirement for search warrants and we could probably eliminate illicit drugs. Ignore the Second Amendment and start seizing every gun in private hands and we could significantly decrease violent crime. And if we could just forget about the Fifth Amendment and legally force confessions in court, we could really up the conviction rate, don't you think? And if they get off, well, just try 'em again, and keep at it until you get a conviction.
