Stardate 20010702.0801 (On Screen): It seems that Hotmail is somewhat less than careful in checking complaints sent to the abuse@hotmail.com address.
Draconian is an appropriate word. In essence, they'll kill any account about which they receive a complaint, even if it's a spurious complaint.
Remember how recently Microsoft announced it was terminating its free list-server? If I were a suspicious soul, I'd wonder whether Microsoft wasn't beginning to think that Hotmail isn't all that good an idea after all, and that it might be looking for a way out. If people think that their mail accounts on Hotmail are insecure and could vanish at a moment's notice, perhaps fewer people would be using it. Is this part of a deliberate exit strategy?
Good think I'm not a suspicious soul, isn't it? (discuss)
