Stardate 20010628.1451 (On Screen): I'm very happy to learn that the government of Cuba is doing the right thing in the so-called "reverse Elian" case. Two kids living in Cuba lost their mother in a traffic accident. Their father is a political refugee living in Miami; all the relatives, including those in Cuba currently caring for the kids, want the two kids reunited with their father. It would seem to be relatively uncontroversial. But the father is a defector and the possibility existed that Cuba might not issue exit visas for the two kids. The good news is that they are doing so, and the two kids will soon join their sole living parent -- as they should.
