Stardate 20010605.0627 (On Screen): China decides to perform the largest practice landing exercise in its history using the best troops it has, and uses
backdoor routes to make sure that Taiwan knows it's a "message" that Taiwan has been just a bit too independent lately. Taiwan and the US both say that it's "just routine". Taiwan doesn't seem intimidated. The US "routinely" moves
USS Carl Vinson into the area (and probably a bunch of attack subs, but that they
wouldn't announce). Now the Chinese are making sure that everyone knows that the exercise is "just routine".
