In this document, the face object is declared with only "align center" for a parameter. As you can see, the eyes are placed at 30,121 relative to the window, irrespective of where the face is located. Try resizing the window, to see that the face moves but the eyes do not.

The face correctly stays within the body of the text, where it ought to be, but the eyes no longer have anything to do with it. (And the face still isn't centered.)
