Amsterdam 0.2.0 (the "Cancun" release, because that's where most of its new code was written) is now released and running on Electric Minds Reborn.

Chief among its features: Amsterdam will now initialize its own database at runtime, rather than relying on running an external script. Amsterdam also now supports "migration scripts" that can be used to update the database layout to match new code. One such migration script has been used to correct an architectural flaw dating back to Venice: conference aliases are now scoped to a community, whereas they were previously scoped globally.

Admins now have the ability to rename user accounts. Thanks to Heather Coleman of EMinds Reborn for the feature request.

The complete changelog is as follows:

Bug Fixes

  • Architectural error: conference aliases now have community scope, rather than global scope.
  • Fix to link for showing hidden posts.

Enhancements

  • Added database initialization, conversion from Venice, and migration scripts.
  • Admin can now change the name of a user account (issue #2).
  • Apple site icon added (issue #5).

Meta-Enhancements

  • Action included to automagically build binaries when a release happens.

It also includes a change from Release 0.1.1:

  • Fixed a bug in post link resolution at post time which was causing the conference alias to be set incorrectly (issue #3).

The release may be checked out from the Erbosoft Git repository.
