At least one other blogger I know has answered this challenge, and I'm in the middle of a "maintenance day" upgrading stuff, so I figured, what the hell.

Do you floss your teeth?

No, I haven't done that in a long time. I do use a decent electric toothbrush, though.

Tea, coffee, or water?

Usually, of the three, water. Back in the apartment, I used to have Eldorado Springs Water delivered, but these days, I just get it from the fridge dispenser. Tea I get every morning; Nicole likes Irish Breakfast tea, and she fills my super-size IQNavigator mug ("The Fastest VMS in the Known Universe") with it. I'll get coffee every so often; my Starbucks go-to is a venti mocha with two pumps of vanilla.

Footwear preference?

Around the house, I'm most often barefoot. In other circumstances, I prefer ballet flats, which have a nice feminine style and are easy to walk or dance in. I very seldom wear heels these days, and I've never gone over 3-1/2" in heel height. (A couple of my evening gowns are designed to wear with 2-inch heels, so I wear them then.) In the summer, I switch to sandals.

Favorite dessert?

Oh, Lordy, that's a tough one. In the past, I've said "French silk pie," which is more like "Chocolate Orgasm Pie" as far as I'm concerned. But I'm getting a tuxedo cake for my birthday, and I've been known to favor other cakes and pies as well. In terms of ice cream, I'm a big fan of Ben & Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie, though you'd be surprised how often I find simple vanilla satisfying.

The first thing you do when you wake up?

Check my E-mail, delete all the crapola, then read the New York Times Morning newsletter, the Sherwood Media Snacks newsletter for business news, and the TLDR newsletter for tech news. Then I'll head over to the bathroom to start by putting my contact lenses in.

Age you'd like to stick to?

Well, that's a good question. As Amy, I've never been younger than 49; I might have liked to be a younger woman, but not too young. 30 seems about right.

How many hats do you own?

A few summer hats, a couple of witch costume hats, and one of those fuzzy winter hats in purple. I'm not really a hat lady, though; that would be Phyllis. (On Insta, she's "hatladyphyllis". She has encouraged me to buy at least one of those hats, so we could both be hat ladies.)

Describe the last photo you took.

A picture of the monitors in my office, which I took to send to my ex-wife in Finland. She had sent me a video about the new Samsung 49" Ultrawide monitor, asking if I'd ever use something like that.

Worst TV show

Almost anything on the news these days is going to be pretty schrecklich, let's face it. But I'm going to say...The Weather Channel, when played all day, every day, with nothing else on the TV. My roommate back in the apartment used to do that. Yikes!

As a child, what was your aspiration for adulthood?

To design my own computer and start my own firm. Later on, though, I grew up and learned the value of standardized architectures. :) I still do some hardware stuff, down at my basement lab bench...but software's been more my speed for a long time.

(And now my Windows 11 install on my main workstation seems to have been screwed...fortunately, I don't use it much. Not a big loss if I have to reinstall it, I guess...)

...or show your appreciation some other way
